Mock interviewing for residencies

Do you have 30 minutes to spare to help a fourth-year medical student prepare for a residency interview without leaving the comfort of your home or office?

As our fourth-year medical students prepare to interview for residency positions during these challenging times, they need your help. While they won’t be able to take advantage of the HOST program for housing again this year, as residency interviews will be conducted virtually via Zoom and FaceTime, they will have the opportunity to participate in virtual mock interviews with alumni volunteers during September and October.

Alumni volunteers who sign up to host mock interviews will be asked to evaluate nonverbal cues as well as verbal responses to questions that will be provided. We would ask prospective interviewers to commit to one to three interviews. Assignments will be made based on geography and specialty (when possible) to make the experience as productive as possible.

Are you a student interested in participating in a mock interview with an alumni volunteer?

Please complete this form to be paired up with an alumni volunteer who is excited to help you prepare for your residency interviews. You will be matched based on specialty and/or desired geographic location of your top-choice program. Once you have been matched with an alumni volunteer, the Office of Alumni Affairs will provide you with their contact information for you to reach out to schedule a practice interview via Zoom. We ask that you complete these by October.
